About

Hi, hello, welcome!  Thanks for stopping by. Small Hour Books is where I put down my thoughts on all things literary and connect with other readers.

Most of my reading happens in the small hours of the day and night, when there's nothing that needs to get done. While I'll read almost anything, my favorites include mysteries, historical fiction, romance, and magical realism.  I'm a sucker for a big fat novel and a good plot.

What can you expect to find here?
Posts once a week about books, poetry, libraries, and reading, with a few about my partner-in-crime, Sheba the tortoiseshell cat, thrown in.

Looking for reviews?
You can check out my reviews page, or take a look at the ones listed below (I think they're pretty rad).

The Girl In The Spider's Web by David Lagercrantz
The Magicians by Lev Grossman
What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami
Longbourn by Jo Baker

Want to get in touch with me?
You can find me on Instagram, BookBub (@smallhourbooks), and Goodreads.  I love hearing from fellow readers and bloggers - it's one of my favorite things - so don't be shy!

A note on disclosure: Sometimes I use affiliate links in a post, which means I receive a small commission if you click on the link and end up buying the book.  I'll always put a little note on the bottom of the post to let you know that it's there.
